Do-it-yourselfers welcome

Security and a view, in the same fence.

Aluminum is the choice when you want an enclosure that reads as a boundary without blocking what’s behind it — perfect for waterfront lots, gardens, and pool areas.

Panels are powder coated so they never need paint, and gates come with self-closing hinges and latches when pool code calls for them.

Key benefits of aluminum fencing

Many styles and heights in stock at our South Dennis shop and yard.

Won't rust

Aluminum with a baked powder-coat finish is built for coastal exposure.

Open sightlines

Slim pickets enclose the yard while keeping the water or garden view intact.

Pool compliant

Configurations that meet local pool-barrier height, spacing and latch rules.

Follows grade

Rackable panels step along slopes without leaving gaps at the bottom.

Zero refinishing

No paint, no rot, no annual maintenance beyond a rinse.

Strong and light

Rigid panels that install cleanly and hold up to wind and daily gate use.

Aluminum Fencing around the Cape

Ornamental aluminum fencing for Cape Cod properties

When a property needs a real boundary without giving up the view, aluminum is usually the answer. It is rust-free, powder coated, pool-code friendly and light enough that it disappears into a landscape rather than dominating it.

Why aluminum instead of wood or vinyl

Aluminum solves a specific problem: enclosing a space while keeping it visually open. On a waterfront lot, around a garden, or across a view corridor, a solid fence removes the very thing that makes the property worth being on. Slim aluminum pickets read as a boundary from a few feet away and nearly vanish from twenty.

It is also the lowest-maintenance material we sell. Aluminum does not rust — that is a property of the metal itself, not the finish — and the baked powder-coat surface does not need paint, stain or sealer. On a coastal property where steel would need constant attention, aluminum simply sits there.

The trade-off is privacy. Aluminum will define, secure and enclose, but it will not screen. Many properties end up using both: aluminum where the view matters, wood or vinyl where the neighbours are close.

Pool enclosures and safety requirements

Aluminum is the most common pool-barrier material for good reason. It meets barrier requirements cleanly, resists chlorine and splash-out, and its vertical pickets are difficult to climb — a genuine consideration in a barrier meant to keep small children out of a pool area.

The rules govern more than height. Spacing between pickets, the gap under the bottom rail, gate swing direction, self-closing hinges, self-latching hardware and the height of the release are all specified, and an installation that misses one of them fails inspection even if everything else is perfect.

We build to those requirements as a matter of course and lay the enclosure out with the inspection in mind. If you are adding a pool or bringing an existing one into compliance, tell us that up front and we will plan the barrier around it rather than adapting a general-purpose fence afterward.

Grades, finishes and what quality looks like

Aluminum fence is made in residential, commercial and industrial grades that differ in picket size, wall thickness and rail dimension. Residential grade is right for most yards and gardens; heavier grades make sense on long spans, wide gates and anywhere the fence will take real use or abuse.

The finish is a baked-on powder coat rather than a painted-on layer, which is why it resists chipping and does not need periodic recoating. Black is by far the most requested colour on the Cape because it recedes visually against planting and water, but other finishes are available.

Quality shows in the connections. Look at how pickets attach to rails and how rails attach to posts — well-made systems have concealed, mechanically sound joints that keep the fence rigid. Rackable panels are the other thing worth specifying: they step and flex along a slope so the fence follows grade without leaving a triangular gap under each section.

Coastal performance and wind

The great advantage of an open picket fence in a coastal setting is that wind passes straight through it. Where a solid privacy panel acts as a sail and puts enormous leverage on its posts, aluminum sheds wind load almost entirely, which means smaller posts, less deflection and far less storm anxiety.

Salt exposure is handled by the material and the finish together. There is no steel to corrode from the inside out, and the powder coat protects the surface from the abrasion of wind-driven salt and sand. Rinsing the fence occasionally with fresh water is genuinely the whole maintenance routine on a waterfront property.

Gates are the only component that needs periodic attention, and only because gates move. Hinges take load every single day, so an annual check and adjustment keeps a gate swinging and latching correctly for the life of the fence.

Planning your aluminum fence

Start with the job the fence has to do. Enclosing a pool, containing a dog, defining a front boundary and securing a whole property lead to different heights, different picket spacing and different gate placement, and it is much cheaper to sort that out on the lawn than after the posts are set.

Then think about circulation. Where do people actually walk? Where does the mower, the wheelbarrow or the trailer need to get through? Gates are the part of a fence people interact with daily, and an undersized or badly placed gate is the single most common regret we hear about.

Finally, check the local rules. Height limits, corner sight lines and any pool requirements all shape the design, and towns across the Cape handle them differently. We will walk the property with you, work through all of it in the actual space, and give you a clear written price with no pressure attached.

All Cape Fence just installed a stockade picket fence all around my property to include a beautiful gate. Let me just say that these guys are the best! All Cape Fence did a great job installing our new scalloped fence. We have a good size frontage so the new fence replaced our split rail fence. This one adds a luxury look to our property. The price was excellent. The boss was accurate with the timeline of installation. His crew installed the fence in about 4 hours. They were meticulous in regards to the installation process. We are happy. You can’t go wrong with ALL CAPE FENCE. they have installed all our fences as well as an outside shower.

Unlike some other fencing, their fences have dowels that fit sections together. Good product and the office people and installers are friendly and professional. Highly recommend!

We needed some fencing for our garden and, after looking around, decided to go with All Cape Fencing. We worked with Ralph, who was exceptionally friendly and patient, to figure out dimensions and spacing. Then our 30 feet of custom-made fencing was ready in less than a week. We really appreciated Ralph and the whole process. Great local company.
